BBC Radio 1 producer joins Wise Buddah

Zane Lowe’s producer Clare Chadburn has joined independent production company Wise Buddah as executive producer.

She’ll work across Wise Buddah’s radio, TV and branded content, including Radio 1 and Radio 1 Xtra projects.

Chadburn will report to head of content Simon Willis and work alongside speech radio executive Jo Meek and BBC music executive Natasha Costa-Correa.

“Clare is the final piece in the Wise Buddah exec’s jigsaw,” said Willis. “Her vast experience of creating multi-platform projects for younger demographics will complement and dovetail with the traditional and more mainstream factual and speech skills that we already have in the form of Jo Meek and Natasha Costa-Correa. Clare’s knowledge of how 15 to 30 year olds interact and consume content is very impressive and I have no doubt that she will be be an incredible asset for the company.”

Chadburn joined BBC Radio 1 in 2006. Initially tasked with looking after the station’s multi-platform content – including podcasting and online video – she went on to produce live shows for Steve Lamacq, Jo Whiley, Huw Stephens and Zane Lowe.

As well as her studio based work Chadburn has produced outside broadcasts from every major festival on the Radio 1 calendar including Reading, Glastonbury and Radio 1’s Big Weekend.

Before joining Radio 1 she worked for radio indie All Out Productions.

Discussing her new job, Chadburn said: “This new role offers me a great opportunity to use my skills and experience across not just a variety of different radio projects but also on TV formats and branded content. Hopefully I can help Wise Buddah to further develop what is already a pretty amazing portfolio of work.”
