UKRD holds first management conference

Managers from UKRD Group stations gathered for the first management Conference in Marlow this week.

Special guests included Radio Academy chief John Myers and pop group The Saturdays

The conference brought together the disciplines of sales, programming, news and finance for two days at The Danesfield House Hotel and Spa near Marlow.

Dinner in the evening also saw the team joined by their Chairman, Trevor Smallwood, who proposed a toast to those present, along with other board members. John Myers entertained the guests with an after dinner speech.

UKRD’s Chief Executive, William Rogers, told RadioToday.co.uk: “This has been a fantastic event and it’s good to get everyone with some sort of management responsibility together under one roof. We’ve done a lot of work and had great fun.”

At the conference, Finance Director, Andy Preece confirmed to everyone present that the group was achieving numbers broadly in line with budget in spite of the economic difficulties and that a further dividend had been paid to shareholders in April.

“We’ve had a great conference and to have The Saturdays turning up to do a private gig for the team put a little icing on the cake,” said Rogers.
