Presenter Mark Goodier leaves Smooth Radio

Smooth Radio’s mid-morning host Mark Goodier is to leave the station after almost six years to spend more time at his own company, Wise Buddah.

Mark Goodier, who will remain with Smooth until mid-December, said. “I have very much enjoyed being part of building a new and successful national radio brand and am very proud of what we have been able to do with the show. I have loved being one of a brilliant team and I’m sure that the next few years for Smooth will be exciting. I’m looking forward to having a little more time every day to do other things in media.”

Real and Smooth Limited Group Programme Director John Simons said “Mark is one of Britain’s great broadcasters and I’m delighted he’s been a part of the Smooth Radio success story. We will announce a new host for the show in due course.”

Mark started his radio career when he joined his local station Radio Forth at the age of 19. He also worked at Radio Clyde and Metro Radio before joining BBC Radio 1 in 1987, starting a 15 year stint with the station.
