Capital FM PD James Brownlow to depart

95.8 Capital FM’s Programme Director James Brownlow is leaving Global Radio after two years in charge at the London station.

James replaced Paul Jackson in November 2010, coming from Capital (Galaxy) Manchester where he was Senior Galaxy Programming Director for Manchester and the North. He’s been with the company since before it took over Chrysalis in 2007.

Deputy PD Robert D’Ovidio will step up to become Acting Programme Director.

Richard Park, Group Executive Director and Director of Broadcasting said: “ We are disappointed to lose James, and wish him well for the future.”

James Brownlow said: “Global is a fantastic company and I wish all the team at Capital continued success.”

shame, now we will definatly loose (or moved even further into the night) Specialist music, as the new programme director will be trained by Global to keep it as repetitive and as boring as possible.
They need to bring Galaxy back, the Galaxy weekends, and Galaxy playlist was so much better, and the voice over was better (currently sounds like an old peoples radio station voice over for very young people, kids), time to remove old DJ Bassman, and re introduce Sacha Brooks, and move Andi back to decent time, and just maybe if he was moved earlier he would be live.
