Key 103 breaks local toy appeal target

Key 103’s Cash for Kids Mission Christmas appeal has resulted in £738,601 worth of toys being donated – a total of over 164,133 toys.

The Key 103 Breakfast Show presenters, Mike Toolan and Chelsea Spokes, headed up the appeal which had originally set a target of 150,000 toys to help the one in three children in severe poverty in Greater Manchester.

Emma Brown, Charity Manager for Key 103’s Cash for Kids, said: “We have been absolutely, utterly, completely overwhelmed with the generosity of Key 103 listeners across Greater Manchester this year, especially given the current economic climate. Every single toy that has been donated will go out to a family in need this Christmas.

“We’d like to thank everyone that’s supported the appeal, either by purchasing a gift or volunteering to help distribute toys. It’s been a very emotional time at Mission Christmas HQ over the past few days, hearing and seeing the real difference that these toys are making to families over the festive period – and we just couldn’t have done it without you.

“So from all of us to all of you, thank you once again, and have a wonderful Christmas and New Year.”
