Live football helps keep talkSPORT up

UTV Media has remained above 3million listeners this quarter with a 32% increase in listeners to live sport.

Post match phone in shows also saw an increase in listeners from the previous quarter with Call Collymore on a Saturday achieving an 19% uplift.

talkSPORT now reaches 2.5million men (81% of the total audience) and 56% of the total audience are ABC1.

Calum Macaulay, talkSPORT Managing Director, said: “This quarter saw more live sport across talkSPORT with some historic FA Cup and Capital One Cup matches broadcast in addition to our exclusive Barclays Premier League commentary. Live commentary is always a draw for our audience and the rise in listeners to these programmes, plus a steady overall figure, shows that more fans are discovering what talkSPORT has to offer.

“2013 will be a big year for the station with exciting cup finals, Barclays Premier League matches plus our exclusive commentary of the British and Irish Lions tour to Australia this summer.”
