Presenter Polly James to depart Absolute

Absolute Radio’s overnight show presenter Polly James is leaving the station this month, after almost four years on-air.

Polly has hosted overnights, weeknights and weekends on the station and also presents Sunday afternoons on Absolute Radio 90s. She was also a big part of the station’s involvement in BT London Live in 2012.

Paul Sylvester, Absolute Radio’s Head of Presentation said: “I’ve never seen someone with so much energy at 6am after being on-air for 6 hours. Polly’s developed massively as a host and interviewer (and for me) her work at BT London Live perfectly demonstrated her talent and growth as a presenter. On stage in front of thousands of people interviewing the athletes, introducing the bands and entertaining the crowds, Polly was completely at home and a real star.”

Polly started her radio career at community station Afan FM in Port Talbot before moving to Nation Radio in South Wales. It’s not known at this stage if Polly is joining another radio station – but it has been said that she’s decided to “move on to pastures new”.

Paul continued: “While we’re sad to be losing such a bright young talent, Polly’s going to achieve great things in everything she does. We should be incredibly proud and honoured to have been the first rung on what I’m confident will be a long career ladder.”
