Classic FM makes music for Cancer charity

Classic FM has launched a new partnership with Cancer Research UK to create a brand new piece of music to raise money.

Howard Goodall, Classic FM’s Composer-in-Residence, will create the music inspired by the work of the charity.

classicfmHoward will travel the country meeting scientists who strive to find cures for all cancers, supporters who make their work possible and cancer survivors who are alive today, thanks to research conducted by the charity.

From this journey, Howard will create an uplifting and stirring piece of classical music. The final composition will be premiered at the Classic FM Live event in London later this year and will be available for purchase online with a donation going to the charity.

Howard Goodall presents Saturday Night at the Movies from 5pm and his brand new series, The Composer’s Composers, every Sunday night from 9pm on Classic FM.

Darren Henley, Classic FM’s Managing Director, said: “We are delighted to announce our new partnership with Cancer Research UK. As well as raising much needed funds and awareness, we believe that Howard Goodall’s evocative composition will become an everlasting musical tribute to the pioneering work of the charity.”
