A new Sound Women Festival has been organised in association with the BBC Academy and RadioCentre, taking place at Broadcasting House in London.
Hosted by BBC Radio 4’s Fi Glover and Anita Anand, and Magic 105.4’s Angie Greaves, the afternoon will be dedicated getting everyone enthused, animated and feeling creative about what they can accomplish in the audio industry.
Founder of Sound Women, Maria Williams, said: “Our first Sound Women Festival will be about amazing people sharing their experiences – whether they’ve overcome hurdles, ripped up the rulebook or just come up with a brilliant idea. We want to inspire our audience to succeed – exploring all the possibilities out there, and revealing how to make the most of them.”
Some of the countries brightest audio talent will be present, along with business leaders, sports people and many others from across the arts and media. In true Festival style, alongside the main events there will also be music, poetry and comedy. The bar will be open, providing plenty of opportunities to meet and chat with speakers and fellow festival goers.
Two free workshops will also be running, with forty places in each at the event on May 18th. The first, Imposter Syndrome, will look at how to build confidence and believe in your own abilities. The second, Making Work Work, will examine different ways of working and what is right for your own work/life balance.
This is the latest in a series of Sound Women events, which have included master classes and networking salons all designed to help women achieve their full potential.
