Internet station offers football commentary

Bedlington-based station Radio Northumberland is covering local non-league football this season, with commentary on every Blyth Spartans game.

The station has committed to covering every home game in every competition, including the cups and all away games.

Head of sport Jonny Hall will commentate on the matches, alongside Spartans’ press officer Mark Carruthers.

Jonny said: “Our Blyth Spartan’s coverage is part of Radio Northumberland’s on-going commitment to providing high quality, non-league football programming for clubs in this area.

“The response to our coverage, from both Green Army fans in the north east and those around the world, has been incredible and we look forward to providing live and uninterrupted coverage of at least 30 games over the coming season at one of the most famous non-league clubs in the country.

“We are also delighted to cover the Northumberland Senior Cup again and to secure the Northumberland FA’s support to broadcast this season’s final is a massive achievement for the station.”
