Bauer Media Scotland is to broadcast a performance by Elton John in Yorkshire across Clyde 2, West Sound, Forth 2, Tay AM and Northsound 2 in Scotland.
The special programme ‘Elton John: Home Again’, which celebrates the release of his new album The Diving Board, will broadcast his performances from his gig at the First Direct arena in Leeds last week.
The two-hour special show, which will be broadcast on Monday 16th September from 8 till 10pm, will feature Elton John classics as well as his new single, ‘Home Again’, plus live tracks exclusively recorded from the one-off performance on September 4th.
The show is produced by the Magic network in the north of England, where it is also being broadcast, and will also be available on BFBS Radio 2 under a special agreement on Friday 20th September.
Duncan Leven, Programme Director – Scotland’s Greatest Hits Network, said: “Providing exclusive experiences is part of our ongoing commitment to offer the best and most exciting content we possibly can for our audiences. Broadcasting a live performance from a musician of this calibre shows our determination to do just that.”
Sir Elton John said: “I am delighted to have been one of the first artists to perform in what will be a wonderful new venue. I recently played to incredible audiences in North Yorkshire, but this was the first time I had played Leeds since 1984 when I played at the Queens Hall, so I was really looking forward to playing to the City of Leeds once again.”
