James Max is joining BBC London 94.9 for Early Breakfast from the new year, four months after leaving LBC 97.3.
The former talkSPORT presenter told RadioToday: “I am really pleased to have been given such a great opportunity to return to the radio airwaves to do what I love to do… talk and share stories with London and Londoners about the big (and sometimes small) stories of the day!”
James left LBC 97.3 in August by announcing his departure on Twitter saying he’s left the station after seven years on-air after his contract wasn’t renewed.
Other schedule changes, in addition to James Max hosting 3am till 6am from January 2nd, include current early breakfast host Harriet Scott moving to weekends to present a Sunday morning show with Chris Rogers 9am – 12pm, replacing Fiona Phillips.
On a Saturday, Jo and Simon’s breakfast show will finish at 10am with Robert Elms doing 10am till 1pm. Gaby Roslin’s entertainment and showbiz programme moves from Saturday to Sunday and extended by an hour from 3pm to 6pm and Tony Blackburn gets an extended programme from 12pm to 3pm each Sunday.
