BBC North’s Isabel Begg joins BBC Radio

BBC Radio & Music’s Rights and Business Affairs department has a new Head of Commercial & Business Development.
Isabel Begg joins from BBC North where she established the Rights and Business Affairs team supporting 5Live, Children’s, Learning and Religion & Ethics, as well as leading a number of projects focused on building external partnerships and business development opportunities across the North.

In the role, she will be responsible for managing business affairs and commercial activity for the BBC Radio Group and BBC Music.

Isabel will provide direction and advice on commercial deals with external partners, rights negotiations and management of BBC intellectual property, as well as co-ordinating the business development and commercial strategy for Radio and the Music genres. She will also become a member of the Radio Board.

“I’m really excited about the opportunity to work in Radio and Music, two of my personal passions, and contribute to such fantastic output,” Isabel says.

Helen Boaden, Director of BBC Radio and Bal Samra, BBC Commercial Director, say: “We’re delighted to welcome Isabel to BBC Radio. She brings a wealth of legal, business affairs and commercial experience, and will play a vital role in the BBC Radio management team.”

Isabel succeeds John Moran, who leaves the BBC this month for a role at Channel 4.
