BBC Radio’s Alix Pryde leaves for Vodafone

The BBC’s director of distribution Alix Pryde is to leave the corporation after 12 years.

Alix most recently addressed delegates at The Radio Festival where she revealed news of the BBC’s new network of 162 DAB transmitters planned for the next couple of years.

She is joining Vodafone to run its consumer product department.

‘We’ll miss Alix a great deal,’ Peter Coles, chief technology officer tells Ariel.

‘She’s demonstrated superb commitment to the BBC’s viewers and listeners, and to her team, and we’ll miss her sense of fun.

‘But at the same time I’m really pleased for Alix, who has secured this exciting opportunity to develop her career with another global brand, while doing what she excels at: launching new and enhanced services for consumers.’

Alix joined the BBC in 2002 in Strategy then became chief adviser to Caroline Thomson, the former chief operating officer.
