New Role for Simon Lowe at UTV in Wigan

Former Smooth Radio producer Simon Lowe has joined UTV Media as Head of Presentation for Wish FM, Wire FM and Tower FM.

The appointment is part of a management restructure at the three stations, which are all based just outside Wigan.

Simon was breakfast producer for Smooth Radio North West before moving to daytime to produce Dave Lincoln, Kid Jensen, Pat Sharp and Carlos.

Also, presenter Simon Nicks has been promoted to Senior Presenter on Wire FM, while presenter Jon Holling has also moved up to be Senior Presenter on Tower FM.

Trevor James, Senior Programmer for Wish FM, Wire FM and Tower FM, said: “I’m thrilled to have someone of Simon’s calibre on the team. He’s a Sony Gold Award winning radio professional with seventeen years’ experience in commercial radio production at the highest level”.

Iain Fowler, Director of Local Radio for UTV Media, said: “Following a very successful 2013, this newly shaped programming team is sure to enable us to increase audiences and revenue for 2014 and beyond.”
