The latest audience figures are in at Prison Radio, and they confirm more prisoners than ever were tuning into National Prison Radio in 2013.
The station reports 84% of prisoners asked said they listened to NPR, up 2% from 2012, and 85% of listeners said they were more aware of support services available to them in prison after hearing NPR.
And tonight a special Prison Radio Association radio programme will air on BBC Radio 4 looking at the life of a repeat offender. It’s My Story: Let Me In has been in the making since 2012 and follows Seymour, a man in his late 40s who has battled with drugs, as he leaves prison for the latest time.
Produced and narrated by PRA’s Steve Urquhart, the programme follows Seymour’s attempts to leave crime behind, find support outside and not go back to bad habits.
It’s My Story: Let Me In is on BBC Radio 4 tonight at 8pm and repeated on Sunday 9th February at 1:30pm.
