SRA takes Demo Factor experience online

The Student Radio Association, in partnership with the Demo Factor judges and production team, is to launch an online, year-round demo advice service.

Demo Factor gives students the opportunity to receive honest feedback on their demos from a panel of industry experts. As an annual event at the National Student Radio Conference, it has given hundreds of students the chance to have their demo listened to and critiqued in front of a live audience.

From July 18th this year, students will be able to upload their demos to DemoFactor.com for year round feedback on their work from a rotating panel of industry experts. In the run up to this launch date, every person who entered Demo Factor this year will be receiving feedback on their entry from the judges: Chris North (Talent Manager, North Media Talent), Jocelin Stainer (Editor, BBC Radio 1), Paul Sylvester (Head of Presentation, Absolute Radio), Rob Watson (Executive Producer, Capital XTRA) and Vicki Blight (Presenter, Absolute Radio).

Demo Factor’s Head Judge, Chris North said “The judges had a LOT of fun this year, and it’s great to see so much new and upcoming talent trying to break into the industry. There were so many enthusiastic students wanting to upload their demo, and all of the Demo Factor team want to work with the SRA to create a more permanent fixture for Demo Factor throughout the year, so that we can help as many people realise their potential.”

Stu Manton, Chair of the SRA added, “Demo Factor is not just an exciting entertainment event at our Conference, but a real chance for wannabe presenters to gain invaluable feedback from some of the industry’s most highly regarded professionals. It’s fantastic that we can work with the Demo Factor team to offer a service that will allow students to benefit from this kind of feedback year-round.”
