Student winner airs on Absolute Radio 90s

The winner of this year’s Demo Factor at the Student Radio Conference will take up his prize of a show on Absolute Radio 90s this weekend.

George Godfrey will be on-air Friday at 7pm hosting the Indie Disco – his prize for having the best demo played to a panel of radio experts, including Head of Presentation Paul Sylvester and presenter Vicki Blight.

George is head of music at Fly FM in Nottingham and has been working with Vicki to get his four hour show on-air. He says: “It’s definitely made me feel much more confident about my presenting. I wasn’t even expecting it to get played out, let alone win! I love the music Absolute Radio 90s plays and so this is brilliant.”

Absolute Radio’s Head of Presentation Paul Sylvester added: “George is a real talent. His demo was great and he’s the perfect example of why student radio continues to be one of the major ways of finding new talent. Absolute Radio’s committed to helping develop the next generation of presenters and producers and Demo Factor is a brilliant way of achieving this.”
