The Vodafone Big Top 40 is to start taking into account streaming, YouTube and social media in addition to downloads and radio airplay.
For the last five years, the chart has worked in real time combining iTunes and airplay but from this summer will include the extra data.
The show is put together by Global Radio in Leicester Square and broadcast on 118 commercial radio stations across the UK, presented by Marvin Humes each Sunday 4pm till 7pm.
