Capital FM’s first act to be announced for the Summertime Ball, taking place at Wembley on June 21st, is Miley Cyrus.
Breakfast presenters made the announcement on air this morning, also confirming the date and venue for the 6th year of the event.
Miley last performed at a Capital event during the Jingle Bell Ball in 2009.
Ashley Tabor, founder & executive president of Global, said: “This is our biggest ball, so it’s only fitting that Miley Cyrus, one of the biggest stars on the planet, is the first artist we’ve announced for Capital’s Summertime Ball with Vodafone. With an unrivalled line-up of world class artists, this year’s ball will be our best yet.”
Miley said “I’m really excited to be playing the Summertime Ball. It’s nuts, especially being at Wembley, it’s such an iconic venue for me to get to perform at and with 80,000 people it will be the biggest crowd I’ve played to here in the UK. That’s kind of intense but I’m really excited…..the outfit I was planning on wearing is as little as I can get away with.”
