Nominations for the Arqiva Awards 2014

Absolute Radio leads the way in the 2014 Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards shortlist – with nine nominations in total.

Breakfast show host Christian O’Connell gets two of those, for presenter of the year and breakfast show of the year (2m+).

Breakfast Show of the Year (under 2m) will be contested by Forth 1’s Boogie in the Morning, Capital FM South Wales and kmfm Breakfast with Rob and Emma, whilst CFM, Free Radio and Isle of Wight Radio fight it out Station of the Year (under 500k).

In Sales, Global Radio’s team in Manchester have also been shortlisted, who are competing with Metro & Magic in Newcastle and Free Radio in Birmingham for Local Sales Team of the Year.

There are a total of 25 categories, including PPL Breakthrough UK Artist of the Year, four categories for radio advertising, and a new award for 2014, Unsung Hero, in what is the biggest annual celebration of UK commercial radio.

Tickets for the awards, which will take place on the evening of July 3rd at the Westminster Bridge Park Plaza Hotel in London, will go on sale on Monday May 12th.
