Absolute Radio is taking listeners to the Isle of Wight Festival by broadcasting some of the acts live from the main stage.
Coverage kicked off Friday night with headliners Biffy Clyro, with full sets from Suede and Kings of Leon expected over the weekend.
Presenters Pete Donaldson, Sarah Champion and Andy Bush will host coverage, which also includes highlights from the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
The station has teamed up with OfficialCharts.com to create the Official Isle of Wight Festival Chart show Saturday night from 7pm. To celebrate a Decade of Digital music in the UK, OfficialCharts.com have compiled the Top 10 most downloaded tracks by some of the biggest bands who’ve played at the festival over the years.
Absolute Radio’s Content Director Tony Moorey said: “We think of our audience as ‘reluctant adults’ – they might have a mortgage to pay and kids to bring up, but they love live music as much as they ever have. Absolute Radio Live gives our listeners the chance to enjoy the festival experience, by winning tickets to some of the biggest events of the summer or by enjoying the coverage live on-air on on-demand online. What better way to begin than with yet another fantastic line-up at the Isle of Wight Festival”
Extra content will also be made available to logged-in users of Absolute Radio’s website, including backstage interviews, promoted by social media.
In addition to the Isle of Wight Festival, more event partnerships are also planned for the summer by the Bauer Media station.
