Business as usual as Sportsmedia wound up

Sportsmedia Broadcasting, the largest independent provider of packaged sports news to the radio industry, has gone into liquidation.

The company offers free audio to radio stations in return for commercial credits on-air.

Since the appointment of liquidators services have been provided as normal to UK radio stations, with Managing Director Jonny Gould telling RadioToday: “All services were maintained and all station commitments have been honoured. Sponsorship remains a viable way of funding broadcasts and with trusty support as we’ve always had from the industry, it will continue.”

A new company, Radio & Social Media Broadcasting Ltd has been set up to continue providing services such as sports bulletins and outside broadcasts.
