Kerrang! hires student radio award winner

Jack Saunders, who has spent the last three years as a student at Fly FM Nottingham is joining Kerrang! Radio.

He’ll host a new Sunday morning show on the digital station 10am till 1pm.

Jack joins Kerrang! from an award heavy three years at Nottingham Trent University. At the end of his first year, Jack guided Fly to its best ever haul at a Student Radio Awards: 9 nominations, 5 Golds and 1 Bronze. He scooped a Best Specialist Music Programming nomination for his new music show, ‘Breakout’ and this year, at the SRA Conference, Jack won the best presenter Award for hosting the SRA “Selector” show.

He began on the ‘radio ladder’ at 16, when he joined Heart 103 in Cambridge for an internship shadowing the likes of Pat Sharp before dabbling with sports reporting at BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.

Music and Content Director of Kerrang! Radio Ric Blaxill told RadioToday: “Jack is a really promising talent. His passion and knowledge for rock music knows no bounds and he’s an authentic voice for the Kerrang! Radio audience.”
