Bro Radio throws a big Party in the Park

Vale of Glamorgan community station Bro Radio is holding a Party in the Park in Barry next month with the local council.

The event, at Romilly Park on Saturday 16th August will see the station promoting itself and the work of the Vale of Glamorgan Council.

Station Manager Gareth Sweeney told RadioToday: “This event shows how strong our partnership with the Vale of Glamorgan Council has become. Its great for us to come together with them to create what we hope will be an event for Barry and the rest of the Vale to be proud of.”

The event starts at Midday and features a whole host of local artists, including Back To November, The James Clode Band, The Cyclones, Midnight Hour and Vale rockers Brother Steve, with Voice finalist Ragsy and Britains Got Talents Jodi Bird finishing off a day of live music.

Chef Ragsy from the 2013 series of BBC One’s The Voice said “Its a massive honour to perform at such a fantastic event in Barry. It’d be great to see this event put the town back on the map and I personally cannot wait.”

The event has been funded by Bro Radio, The Vale of Glamorgan Council and local business, McDonalds, The Buck, Barry YMCA, GoMoBro and Bouchercodes.
