UKRD has joined forces with a Nordic company to deliver geographically specific ads through the groups in-house developed mobile phone apps.
The patent pending system, developed by Exaget, is to launch shortly and then rolled out across the portfolio of stations.
“This is a really exciting development for UKRD stations and takes full advantage of the new digital landscape we are all operating within,” said James Wenger, the group’s Chief Technology Officer.
“Being able to target listeners with geographically specific campaigns and information, which they can then respond to at the click of an icon, adds hugely to the effectiveness of what we are delivering for our advertisers. Producing our own in house apps means we can move this along in any direction we want and it’s a great example of what we are doing at UKRD to take full advantage of the opportunity that the new digital landscape affords us,” he said.
