Radio voice-overs appear on This Morning

Five voice-overs have taken part in a feature on itv’s This Morning television programme today.

They joined presenters Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes who had to guess which public service they voiced, from the London Underground to the supermarket self-checkouts.

Elinor Hamilton, Phil Sayer, Jon Briggs, Posy Brewer and Sara Mendes da Costa lined up with host Jenni Falconer who gave out clues to their identity.

The five work in the radio industry voicing commercials and imaging, but they also each have their own public facing gig. Elinor and Phil are voices on the tubes and trains, Sara is the voice of the Speaking Clock, Jon was the voice of SIRI on iOS and Posy helps shoppers scan their own items in supermarkets.

After the event, Elinor told RadioToday: “It was fantastic to be involved and to meet up with Posy, Sara and Jon. Also great that Siri finally answered the questions I’d ACTUALLY asked instead of telling me he “didn’t understand that.”

Posy said: The itv crew were a delight to work with and it was such fun to be involved and a great laugh for us all. I loved the fact that Sara the speaking clock wasn’t actually wearing her own watch and had to borrow one. The icing on the cake will be if Phil and Ellie miss their train home.”

Phil added: “Great chance to catch up with Eamonn again – he, Ruth and Jenni were a pleasure to work with, and the whole morning was great fun. Not many people can say they’ve just had lunch with the lady who tells me regularly to put my shopping in the bagging area but I just have!”
