The Voice winner Jermaine Jackman is to present a programme on Premier Gospel as the station broadcasts live from the Notting Hill Carnival.
The digital station will be live from this year’s Carnival on Bank Holiday Monday, August 25th with a stage of live music from the area known locally as ‘God Corner’, outside Westbourne Park Baptist Church.
The live concert will be staged from 12 noon to 7pm and Premier plans to broadcast a special carnival programme from 3-00 pm to 7-00 pm, with intermittent live coverage from the concert stage during the ‘Gospel Drive Show’.
The concert will feature the radio station’s own DJ Pappi and Karl Nova, along with headliner reggae star Watchman who will be performing a special set for Premier.
Jermaine Jackman, winner of this year’s BBC TV singing talent show The Voice, will present an evening show from Premier Gospel’s London studio in Pimlico between 7pm and 9pm.
Premier Gospel Station Director, Muyiwa Olarewaju, told RadioToday: “It’s going to be a music-packed afternoon with live broadcasts from the carnival and also from the studio. Our on air programmes will include a broadcast of the Premier Gospel Week Finale Concert, featuring Mobo award winner Lurine Cato, Adam & Kid, and Watchman.
