BBC Radio has signed up for three years of exclusive UK broadcast rights for the new European Rugby Champions Cup tournament.
The competition – which replaces the Heineken Cup – kicks off next month.
BBC Radio has secured the rights in this country through to the end of the 2017/18 season. In the opening two rounds of the tournament there’ll be full commentary on 5 live and 5 live Sports Extra from up to 12 matches. BBC Radios Ulster, Scotland and Wales, along with English local radio stations, will also broadcast commentary from both the Champions Cup and the Challenge Cup.
The BBC Sport website will have live streaming provide detailed daily news from the clubs across Europe. And 5 live Rugby on Thursday evenings will also offer listeners in-depth previews and analysis throughout the European season.
