BBC station sings song for Coventry road

Staff at BBC Coventry & Warwickshire have created a cover version of Let’s Go Round Again as an ode to Coventry’s Ring Road as it approaches its 40th year.

Breakfast presenter Shane O’Connor has taken the lead on the song, which will also feature a video of local people singing the lyrics.

Pete Waterman has described BBC Coventry & Warwickshire’s latest venture as ‘making musical history. “It must be the first time in British Record Music History that someone has dedicated a song to a Ring Road.. so on that alone, you get 10 marks,” he said.

The road transports nearly 40,000 vehicles a day around its 2.2mile long tarmac and over 200 people have taken part in the creation of a film to commemorate the road’s special birthday.
