The Radio Academy has launched a “How To” training day for the Radio Festival this year.
The day will be hosted by Magic’s Angie Greaves and BBC Radio 1’s Greg James, and will feature various sessions including one by Bauer radio boss Dee Ford.
‘How To…’ is the brainchild of Chris Burns, Festival Chair and Paul Sylvester, Deputy Festival Chair. Chris Burns said: “Paul and I both agreed that we really wanted this year’s Festival to be more available to everyone in the Industry. The idea of ‘How To…’ was born. We wanted to create a place at the Festival where there would be practical training and hands-on experience for all – those new to the industry as well as those wanting to take the next step – and all at an affordable price.”
The programme includes a managing talent session by consultant and trainer Alex Dalton, a session on how to use social media by Kat Wong and a breakfast bootcamp by Tracy Johnson.
Dee Ford will present “10 Things They Never Taught Me At School” – aiming to be an ‘inspirational, uplifting and charming look at the 10 things she wishes they’d taught her at school’.
The ‘How To…’ Training Day is held in partnership with the BBC Academy and Creative Skillset and has a ticket price of £99.
