Eagle Radio in Surrey and North East Hampshire is extending its live drive show till 9pm with Lewis Mason.
Former Farnham UCA student Lewis Mason is taking over the slot, having first joined Eagle on work experience in 2008. His show runs from 5pm and includes the ‘live and local’ slot from 7pm till 9pm extending the live output on the UKRD station.
Wes Venn, who has left to join Mix 96, was previously on-air 4pm till 8pm.
The rest of the schedule timing has been changed so the mid-morning show with Adam Morris is on-air from 9am till 1pm and Kim Robson is on from 1pm till 5pm.
Commenting on the new line-up, Eagle Radio Programme Director, Peter Gordon, said: “Eagle is by far the most popular commercial and local radio station in its area and I’m really proud of this team. To be able to hand the drive shift to Lewis, who has worked so hard to get it, is a delight.
“His inclusion not only once again shows how healthy Eagle and parent company UKRD’s people development policy is, but also means we can use Lewis’s local knowledge and understanding well into the evenings; a time now often ignored by many broadcast outlets.”
Lewis Mason said: “I’m delighted to be taking on the Eagle Radio Drive-time show. When I first arrived for work experience at Eagle when I was 16, I shadowed the then drive-time presenter, so to now be taking on that show is brilliant.
“We may have a new look line-up, but we are still dedicated to providing local and live radio to Surrey and Hampshire, and I’m really excited to be part of it!”
