Broadcaster, writer and former Royal Ballet principal dancer Deborah Bull has joined Classic FM to host a new six-part series called Classic FM at the Ballet.
The show started its six week run over the weekend, and will be on-air for the next five Saturdays from 2pm till 3pm.
‘Classic FM at the Ballet’, is in partnership with Sky Arts, will ‘celebrate the world’s greatest ballet scores’.
Deborah Bull said: “Having been surrounded by ballet music for so much of my life, I’m delighted to have the chance to share some of my favourite pieces each week on Classic FM. Listeners can expect to revisit some popular favourites as well as uncovering new treasures, alongside memories of my time as principal dancer at The Royal Ballet.”
Her first programme for television, Dance Ballerina, Dance, was screened at Christmas 1999 as part of BBC 2’s Dance Night, an evening devoted entirely to dance which she co-presented along with the comedian Alexei Sayle. She has made programmes for, and contributes regularly to, BBC Radio 4 including Breaking the Law and Law in Order, A Dance Through Time and Hothouse Kids.
