The Free Radio studios in Birmingham were full of singers on Thursday last week as the radio station had three artists popping in to play new singles and to meet fans.
The action-packed day saw visits from Olly Murs, Danny O’Donoghue from The Script and McBusted.
The day kicked off with Olly at 9am, who took over the airwaves to present Guess The Year, where he urged fans to tweet #OllyTheYearIs, and gave listeners clues.
After 10am he joined presenter Andy Goulding to play his new single Wrapped Up, before posing for selfies with the crowds of fans waiting outside the studios.
Danny from The Script then popped in at 11am to play the band’s new single No Good In Goodbye, and became quizmaster in the Free Radio Music Game.
Then in the afternoon, McBusted made a surprise appearance to play their new single Air Guitar and performed an acoustic version of Sleeping With The Light On live on air with Dan Morrissey.
Toby Mackenzie, Deputy Programme Director said: “We like to surprise. The Free Radio brand is all about “Never a dull moment” – so we seize opportunities like these when celebrities visit, to do something a bit different.
