Glasgow radio stations cover lorry incident

Radio stations in Glasgow are providing extra news coverage of today’s incident involving a lorry in the main George Square shopping area.

The situation, which is still unfolding, is resulting in Bauer’s Clyde 1 and Clyde 2 simulcasting with regular news updates and information, along with a more appropriate selection of music.

Regular programmes on Clyde have been cancelled, including Clyde 1’s Super Scoreboard and networked programmes on Clyde 2.

BBC Radio Scotland is continuing non-stop news coverage of the event, with reporters on the scene and rolling coverage amongst the usual sport and travel news. 5 live and LBC are also focussing on the incident for a national audience.

Other city stations including Global’s Heart and Smooth, plus Communicorp’s Capital are providing extra news coverage with extended bulletins and live reports from the scene, plus extra traffic and travel news following the closure of parts of the city centre.
