Boyband One Direction, once banned from Capital’s playlist, will headline the station’s Summertime Ball for 2015.
Liam from the band appeared on breakfast in London with Dave Berry and Lisa Snowdon saying he was “well exciting” at playing at Wembley. It’ll be the first time the boys perform as a four piece in London.
More acts will be announced from Wednesday for the event, which is taking place on June 6th.
Ashley Tabor, founder & executive president, Global, said: “Only Capital can bring our listeners the world’s hottest superstar hit music artists all in one place, and they don’t get any hotter than this! Harry, Louis, Niall and Liam are the first massive act in our line-up. I can’t wait for Capital to reveal the other names joining them at this year’s Summertime Ball with Vodafone.”
Liam Payne said: “Wembley is obviously one of the best places to play in the world so I’m well excited!”
One Direction was previously banned from all Capital stations after Harry Styles mentioned BBC Radio 1 while accepting an award voted for by Capital listeners.
