Kid Jensen to host classic Sunday chart show

Former Network Chart show host David Kid Jensen is to present a new Sunday evening chart show on three UTV radio stations.

The new programme, no doubt in reaction to the Official Chart Show moving from Sunday to Friday, will air on Signal 2, Pulse 2 and Swansea Sound plus online from May 3rd.

Flashback 40 will feature classic charts from 70s and 80s. David Jensen said: “I’ve always loved counting down the Top 40 for the nation and I’m really excited to be able to bring back the charts from years gone by in my ‘Flashback 40’ I’m particularly looking forward to working with the team at UTV and sharing fantastic charts from the 70’s and 80’s every Sunday afternoon.”

Absolute 80s is also introducing a classic chart, to be broadcast at the same time, Sunday 4pm till 7pm hosted by Martyn Lee.

Group Programme Director for UTV Radio GB, Terry Underhill added: “A generation of us grew up listening to the legendary David ‘Kid’ Jensen on the chart show and this will be a weekly opportunity to re-live those great times. David is an outstanding DJ and we’re thrilled he’s decided to join UTV to present our Flashback 40.”
