Radio Yorkshire aims to be more Yorkshire

Radio Yorkshire has rebranded its breakfast show and website in a bid to offer more local content.

The new breakfast show, with regular host Darren Harper, is now called Good Morning Yorkshire and it was the first to use the station’s new strapline of “Proper Music, Proper Sport, Proper Radio”.

Director of Broadcasting Sam Brydges told RadioToday: “The new sound is designed to make people smile. The imaging is fun, the music offers something different to our competitors locally and the website has had a facelift Simon Cowell would be proud of.

“We’ve made a few more tweaks to the schedule as well, so check out our shiny new website for more details.”

Radio Yorkshire broadcasts live commentary of Leeds United and Rugby League.

Good Morning Yorkshire presenter and Programme Manager Darren Harper added “I’ve been called the new Susanna Reid but I refute that, she has bigger shoulders than me. I’m really looking forward to seeing how the listeners react, we’ve had a fantastic response already.”
