BFBS to broadcast Classic FM’s VE Day concert

To mark the 70th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, BFBS Radio and BFBS Radio 2 are broadcasting live coverage of the UK’s main commemorative events.

BFBS Radio will feature updates from the VE Day Service of Remembrance at The Cenotaph today (Friday 8th May), and highlights from the 1940s-themed concert at Horse Guards Parade tomorrow.

Following coverage of the Thanksgiving Service at Westminster Abbey on Sunday 10th May, presenter, Luisse Shaw, will be reporting live from a reception for veterans in London’s St. James’s Park.

BFBS Radio’s Patrick Eade takes an in-depth look what VE Day means in his Forces Life Special on Sunday, and later that day, BFBS Radio 2 is broadcasting the VE Day at 70 concert live from the Royal Albert Hall at 7.30pm. The Classic FM concert, with performances from Katherine Jenkins, Wynne Evans and Rebecca Ferguson, is a TBI Media and Snappin’ Turtle production.
