Deezer, the music streaming service, is adding content from London-based Monocle 24 and the Financial Times newspaper.
The company has today announced 20,000+ news, entertainment, comedy and sports shows will be available on demand, with podcasts from NPR, Slate, WNYC, Radio Nova (France), Télérama and Sveriges Radio.
The launch marks the integration of radio programming from Stitcher, the radio and podcast app acquired by Deezer last October.
Monocle 24 operates online from London and has been operating since 2011. The station delivers global news and shows covering foreign affairs, urbanism, business, culture, design, food and drink and print media.
“Deezer is pairing the best news and entertainment with the largest music catalogue in the world to become the leading service for on demand music, radio and podcasts,” said Hans-Holger Albrecht, CEO of Deezer.
“This move signals our commitment to leading innovation, with a vision of becoming a single destination for audio, tailor-made for each listener. We’ll continue to roll out new programming in additional regions throughout the year.”
Deezer is available in over 180 countries, with 16 million monthly active users and six million paid subscribers worldwide.
