Arqiva’s new CEO appointed from Samsung
Samsung special advisor Simon Beresford-Wylie is joining Arqiva as its new CEO, replacing John Cresswell.
John has been CEO of Arqiva for four and a half years and has significantly grown its profits. It has a forward order book at an all-time high of £6.4bn and will this year deliver record revenues.
Simon is a global executive with more than 30 years of experience in the information technology and telecoms sector.
He arrives from Samsung Electronics, where he was based in Seoul, Korea as a special advisor, guiding a review of the strategy and operations of the company’s Network Business. Prior to joining Samsung, Simon was CEO of UK-based Digital Mobile Spectrum Limited.
Arqiva Chairman, Mike Parton: “Simon brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise that will help to develop Arqiva’s strategy and his background fits perfectly with our lines of business. During my initial time at Arqiva it’s become clear that the business has a lot of opportunity and we’re on the cusp of some exciting developments. I’m looking forward to working with Simon to deliver these.”
Simon added: “Becoming CEO of Arqiva is the culmination of years spent working across a diverse range of sectors including telecoms, broadcast, engineering and smart metering. Arqiva is a truly unique company in the breadth and diversity of its offerings. I’m incredibly excited to have the opportunity to help shape and guide its future development and to work in partnership with some of the UK’s leading companies which, of course, Arqiva also happens to count as valued customers.”
He joins Arqiva on 1 August 2015.
