Capital presenter Matt Lissack cycles to Paris

Capital South Wales presenter Matt Lissack is getting on his bike this week to ride 400 miles to Paris from his hometown of Cardiff.

The Capital Breakfast presenter is taking part in the #StayStrongForOws Cardiff to Paris cycle in the hope of raising as much money as possible for the seriously injured Welsh rugby player, Owen Williams.

Owen, who is a well known name in Capital South Wales’ TSA, suffered a significant injury to his cervical vertebrae and spinal chord during the World Cup 10s in Singapore last June. All money raised will help to fund his future care.

Matt will be taking the rest of the week off from Capital Breakfast, but cannot wait to get going: “It was Capital South Wales where I heard the story about the epic charity ride. I decided that I was going to do it for the challenge and to help out Owen. Owen Williams was a rising star for Wales rugby when he had this awful accident – I just know how devastated I’d be if the same thing happened to me at the beginning of my career”.

You can hear updates on Matt’s progress this week on Capital South Wales.
