The Radio Festival will take place in September this year, at a new venue in London.
The event, which was under threat of not happening after the Radio Academy closed its office and made most of its staff redundant last year, will go ahead but with a different feel to previous years.
The Radio Festival has been in Salford for the last four times, after previously changing city each year, and typically took place over three days. The 2015 Radio Festival will happen on one day – 29th September – but will be surrounded by other events such as Techcon and the John Peel Lecture. It will take place at the British Library.
Details of the Festival were announced by Radio Academy Chair Chris Burns at a re-launch event held in London last night. Chris also introduced new Radio Academy Managing Director Roger Cutsforth.
We’ll bring you more details on the new-look Radio Festival event as soon as we have it.
