The Radio Academy is getting ready for a relaunch as it hires new Managing Director Roger Cutsforth.
Roger joins from Global where he’s spent the last eight years at the group’s Yorkshire station Capital FM. Earlier this month he moved to Global in Birmingham on interim secondment in addition to working on the Group Sales Strategy.
Announcing the appointment, Radio Academy Chair Chris Burns said: “I am delighted to announce this week that Roger Cutsforth is to become the Radio Academy’s new Managing Director. Roger currently works at Global and brings to the role a love of the industry and a passion for the “Creative Led Sell”. Roger will take up his new post in mid July and I know he can’t wait to get started. I think he is a great appointment for the Academy and I am really looking forward to working with him.”
Roger’s radio career spans almost 25 years, having joined Viking FM as a sales exec in 1991 before moving on to Minster FM and Global East Midlands. He’s also set up and run his own company, Roger Wilko Productions.
The Radio Academy will also be announcing details of a new Radio Festival, Techcon and 30 under 30 plan to take place this year. Details are expected at an industry event in London this Monday evening.
