Radio presenter uses Apple Watch to host show

A radio presenter in Brighton will be playing nothing but audio from a smartwatch for his show, in what is being described as a world first.

Anthony Martin, a volunteer with Coastway Hospital Radio, says “For the first time ever, the entire music playlist and content will be played from an Apple watch.”

The 90 minute show will air at 1.30pm Wednesday 17th June when all CD players, record players, radio playout system and minidisc players will be turned off.

Anthony adds: “We feel that this is an exciting technological milestone in broadcasting history which we are looking forward to sharing with everyone.”

Coastway Hospital Radio for Brighton broadcasts to 1500 patients in the Royal Sussex Hospital and online.
