BBC Radio 2 has secured Rod Stewart to sing at its annual music event in London.
BBC Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park, which takes place this year on Sunday 13 September, has also lined up Bryan Adams, Giorgio Moroder, The Corrs, Leona Lewis, Kate Rusby, Will Young, Shaun Escoffery, and The Shires and Ward Thomas.
Rod Stewart: “This show is going to be a one-time-only experience. I’m excited to do some of the fan favourites that I also love — in football terms, these are the impact players that often get left on the bench.”

Coverage of the event, including full sets and performances from the day, will be available to watch on BBC Red Button, BBC iPlayer and the Radio 2 website, which will also feature backstage footage, acoustic sessions and interviews from the event.
Last year’s Radio 2 in Hyde Park event achieved its highest ever reach on Red Button with 1.19 million viewers. When shown on BBC Four, Jeff Lynne’s ELO at Hyde Park achieved an average audience of 478k viewers with an additional c. 125k views on BBC iPlayer.
