Consultant and broadcaster Mary Portas is to make her radio debut by hosting shows on the UK’s biggest station.
She’ll be joining BBC Radio 2, sitting in for Jo Whiley on July 6th and 7th. Radio 2 tells us Mary is a self-confessed music fan and her favourite artists include Marc Bolan, David Bowie and Simple Minds.
The retail consultant will be sharing with listeners the music that has inspired and motivated her over the years. “I’m delighted to be presenting for Radio 2 for the first time. I’m a big fan of Jo’s show especially, and it’ll be such a thrill to be bringing the music and entertainment to the listeners, rather than being the one listening at home,” she said.
Mary is well know for her appointment by David Cameron, the British Prime Minister, to lead a review into the future of Britain’s high streets, and her television series Mary Queen of Shops.
