Andrew Bailey, Bauer Media’s Head of News for National Radio and Absolute Radio breakfast newsreader is leaving the company.
After 18 years in commercial radio he’s off to Sky News to be Senior News Editor.
Speaking to RadioToday, Andrew said: “I’m hugely excited to be joining Sky News and to help set the daily agenda across its tv and digital platforms – it’s a fantastic opportunity to work with a very talented team.”
Andrew started his radio career at Radio City in Liverpool in 98, before moving to Century in Manchester then to Golden Square in 2002.
Andrew added: “However after 18 years in commercial radio – and thirteen of them with the team at one golden square – it’s tinged with sadness too.
“I will miss the Bauer family immensely – especially my colleagues at Absolute Radio – and working on the best breakfast show in the UK with Christian O’Connell and his team.”
