Communicorp has hired BBC Radio 1 producer Laura Busson as its new PC in Yorkshire, replacing Ricky Durkin at Heart.
Laura is best known for her diary, which became a long running feature on BBC Radio 1 with Scott Mills. It eventually turned into One Night with Laura, which became a nationwide hunt for a boyfriend.
At Radio 1, Laura has been a producer for Scott Mills, Greg James and the Official Chart Show since she joined via a BBC Talent Production Traineeship.
Heather Kane, Head of News and Programming at Communicorp UK, said: “We are thrilled to have Laura on board and joining the Heart Yorkshire programming team. She is an exceptional talent within the industry and I have no doubt that she will deliver some fantastic creative ideas and results for us as a station and as a group. The team is very much looking forward to giving her a warm welcome and I’m sure she will hit the ground running, fitting in perfectly with the rest of the guys.”
Laura Busson (aka Sayers) said: “”I leapt at the chance to join the Communicorp UK team, combining two of my greatest passions; radio and my home county, Yorkshire. I look forward to working alongside some incredible people and becoming part of the Heart family.”
Former Heart Yorkshire Programme Director Ricky Durkin left the station in Yorkshire to follow freelance work.
