Viking FM’s Home Run presenter Pete Egerton will be cycling ‘sea to sea’ to raise money for charity.
He’s chosen to drop his upcoming ‘stag do’ event in favour of a bike ride from Morecambe to Bridlington to raise funds for Crohn’s and Colitis UK.
Pete and eight friends are taking part in the three day “Sea to Sea for C and C” challenge and told RadioToday: “I’ve had Ulcerative Colitis since 2009 which has consisted of numerous flare-ups, but have been fortunate in comparison to others having only been hospitalised once. Crohn’s and Colitis UK provide such great support to all those with Inflammatory Bowel disease and this is a perfect opportunity to give something back to a charity that has helped me and many more on a daily basis.”
The team will take on the 143 mile route from 9th July and have been in training for several months, with some people getting on a bike for the first time in a decade, and for Pete, with the nature of his condition, it’s not always easy.
Pete will marry his fiancée Katy Winterschladen in September. Katy said: “I’m so proud of Pete for doing this, especially when it’s his stag do – incredibly selfless and for a great cause too.”
The team is now looking for people to sponsor them and you can make a donation and find out more about the challenge by going to seatoseaforcandc.com.
